Two Individuals Accused Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a luggage theft where a suspected pepper spray led to people being hurt at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two robbery charges and two counts of using a harmful chemical, as confirmed by court officials.
This legal action stems from an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after exiting a car park lift, police said.
A young child was among those injured in the event. A total of five individuals required hospital care and were eventually allowed to go home.
This event – described by police as was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
