Jet Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Due to Crack in Cockpit Window
An aircraft carrying Pete Hegseth was required to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the plane's windshield, as stated by an official announcement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft touched down following standard procedures and all individuals on the flight, including Secretary Hegseth, is secure," an official representative said in a social media post.
Hegseth was returning from a short visit to the city of Brussels when the incident occurred.
This occurrence does not mark the first time that a US military aircraft carrying a high-ranking official has experienced mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to head back to the US capital after encountering a technical issue.
