Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025 Gaming Honors
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards unfolded recently, and in a stunning show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the most decorated winner. This standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive secured the esteemed Ultimate Game of the Year award, along with accolades for Outstanding Narrative and Best Visual Design.
Enhancing the developer's triumph, the talented performers also garnered individual awards. Jennifer English was named Best Lead Performer for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Performer for his role as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive itself was named Top Studio. Overall, Clair Obscur and its makers won seven awards throughout the event.
Additional standout winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which won Best Audio Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Outstanding Independent Game and Premier PC Title. Notably, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the gamers, with only 4 awards—Critics Choice, Rising Star, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers’ Choice—decided by reviewers.
